About Us

Look, we started Apexly because watching distributed teams struggle with basic coordination was driving us nuts. You've got brilliant people scattered across time zones, and they're drowning in Slack messages, missed emails, and meetings that should've been two sentences in a doc. We built tools that work the way your brain actually works — not the way some Silicon Valley theorist thinks it should. Our platform cuts through the noise. Teams use Apexly to ship faster, argue less, and spend actual time on work instead of managing work. We're not trying to be everything. We're trying to be the one thing your remote team actually needs.

Over time, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, quality, and clear communication. We treat each project as a partnership and aim for outcomes that last.

The people behind Apexly

Viktor Popescu

Viktor Popescu

Co-Founder & Product

Built Apexly because he got tired of rewriting the same team workflows every 18 months. Spent 12 years managing distributed engineering teams before deciding to solve it properly. Coffee obsessive. Thinks out loud. Probably too honest in customer calls.

Anca Mihai

Anca Mihai

Co-Founder & Operations

Keeps the machine running and Viktor from overcomplicating everything. Former COO at a Romanian SaaS startup. She knows exactly when to say 'no, we're not doing that.' Has opinions about onboarding flows that are weirdly always correct.

David Chen

David Chen

Lead Engineer

Singapore-based. Writes code that doesn't require three Slack explanations to understand. Obsessed with performance metrics nobody else notices. Can make async workflows sing. Thinks in Python and solutions, roughly equally well.

We’re a team that values ownership, clarity, and growth. We celebrate wins, learn fast, and keep client outcomes at the center.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide everything we do

Ruthless Simplicity

We say no to features that sound cool. If it doesn't solve a real problem for real teams, it doesn't exist in Apexly. Complexity kills adoption. We obsess over making hard things look easy.

Async First

Real-time collaboration is overrated. We design for teams where synchronous work is the exception, not the rule. Your timezone shouldn't determine when you can contribute.

Humans Over Hype

We don't chase trends or pretend AI solves everything. We listen to what actual managers and builders tell us they need. Then we build it. Boring, maybe. Effective, definitely.

Radical Transparency

You get to see our roadmap, our pricing, our growing pains. No locked-in features. No surprise price bumps. We succeed when you succeed.

Our Story

Started in 2018 when three of us kept complaining about the same problem at every coffee break. We were managing distributed teams across Europe and the US, and the tools felt stuck in 2005. So we sketched out what we actually needed on napkins (yes, really) and started building in a Budapest apartment. By 2020, we had 47 beta customers who basically kept us honest. Moved to this office in Brașov in 2021. Haven't looked back. We've stayed small intentionally — 12 people, all remote except for our core ops team — because we actually practice what we preach.

Our Mission & Our Vision

🧭

Our Mission

Give remote teams the friction-free environment they deserve. We eliminate the silly overhead that kills productivity — outdated workflows, scattered conversations, invisible context. Your team should spend energy on what matters, not on hunting down information across 15 different apps.

🌍

Our Vision

A world where remote work doesn't mean isolation or chaos. Where asynchronous collaboration feels natural. Where timezone differences are a feature, not a bug. Where the best talent wins regardless of geography, and nobody's sitting through pointless status meetings.
